Help requested...

Post by albannach2 »

I have had the badge shown for many years now, but I have as yet been unable to determine it's origin : my thought is that it may be a cartridge-pouch badge from a French Napoleonic light infantryman....the badge appears to be cast rather than stamped, so I am assuming it is older than the ACW. Any thoughts or opinions would be welcome. Thanks, Iain.

It certainly does look like one and that would be my best guess as well. I'll try to find my photos from Les Invalides to see if I can find a match...

If that is what it turns out to be it's a rather lovely thing to have.

It's the St Tropez Yard of Wine Club members' badge.

Why do they loop over their yard, and surely it is a metre?
