and all for the price of rum

Post by curlerman »

To celebrate both my new found inspiration and the brief return home of two wargaming friends I decided to fight a small action from the Klaggenfurt valley saga. The battle of Hoogenblatt was fought over the price of rum and proved to be quite hilarious. The figures involved were 10mm soldiers from the army of Biehlberg and a couple of minor states. The account can be found on the blog at http://flownlegions.blogspot.com.es/201 ... f-rum.html
A lot of the fun came from the back story and the surprise I saved for the heir to the duchy of Biehlberg.. I enjoyed it a lot.
In fact it was so much fun my gaming group here in cataluña convinced me to mount another monster Blucher game involving 14 players and as many army corps. A return to Bavaria in 1809 on the 14 january. I can't wait.

Here's the obligatory taster

Very nice. I particularly like the sound of the 1809 Bavarian thing - looking forward to that (especially as it's just two days before my birthday).

I have the psychic gift and I can see....yes I can see a major re-basing programme happening somewhere in Essex, yes, I can see a shed and hear the sound of 20mm soldiers being ripped from their bases.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

It has played on my mind, but the thought of painting extra figures to make up the units gives me sleepless nights.

Nice looking chaps and a great AAR> As you say, a backstory makes it more interesting.
