Buff,

As far as Ayton is concerned, it will be helpful if your close order units have a minimum frontage in line of 180mm. If they have less than that I suspect we'll have to drop them down from six to four bases (for bases read, stands or strength....etc....), but they will still count as a unit when calculating the composition of your army. That could be a disadvantage.

As for quality, I'm sure we'll allow people to have 'some' elite units (and they may have to have some green units as well).

When you've pondered what you want to do, drop me a PM and we can chat about stuff. You can be the trail blazer.

You could make the formation the Composite Brigade of Foot Guards (dark blue facings), which would legitimately allow you to add a small Light Bobs unit as well, since the Guards retained their (very large) flank companies as part of the brigade structure.

German troops tended to be kept within their own brigade structure, except for the von Bose regiment in the South, which was the only German line infantry unit in Cornwallis's army and thus had to serve alongside a non-German unit (the 71st from memory).
Much obliged and that will save me faffing about with different facings.
