Obligatory EB mickey taking aside, is there a reason you feel like this EB?
Just personal taste or are there practical elements?

Practical consideration is that thin bases mean you end up picking the figs up by the figure rather than the base. You may or may not consider this a problem. Plus they are a bit pricier.

Simon has a point, but that wasn't what I was thinking.

My main grudge against metal bases, and I have a few, is the extra weight. This was brought home to me when I inherited my mate's Napoleonic collection, all of which is steel based, and had to transport it.

For example, one MDF Fire and Fury base (1" x 7/8") weighs 1g. The same 1mm thick steel base weighs 5g. The difference soon adds up.

Superb looking base of figures Mr P, not sure what to think about steel
Its obvious that there are somethings that figures should never be based on, old banana skins for example being one
What else might it not be wise to base figures on?
