Northstar have various ones. Their long, steel ones are thicker than the copper ones

Essex do cast spears - they are most probably thicker than wire

You can buy brass rod in various thicknesses from good model shops. The shop under the city wall in York should have a selection. Just hammer the end flat and shape with a file. Or, piano wire....but with that a Dremel or similar would be rather handy.

Amazon do 1.5mm aluminium craft wire which I use when I am not using plastic bristles. Cut it to length, roll it on a flat board with a rough metal file (this straightens it and leaves a nice texture), crimp the business end flat with pliers and shape a point with a needle file or similar.

Piano wire is a lot harder (literally) to work with than brass. I managed to bugger up some good tools trying to cut & shape piano wire.

And then, if someone leans on your spears, they stop leaning immediately.

Very true. A Dremel (or similar) is your friend. A serious pair of pliers is also a must.

Personally, I prefer piano wire, because my terrible OCD makes me worry about brass rod bending.....which it does. Quite easily.

Admit it your troops have piano wire, so once routed they can build a piano while the other players carry on the game.
