Early I know but just a thought starter. I know we tend to settle on this at the actual weekend but sometimes this means people who aren't out on the Sat night don't get as much input, so thought it might be worth having a slow-burn thread on this.

How about we have an ensemble of games. A bit like the November 2021 where there were a whole range of games throughout the weekend. This avoids the need to find one big game that suits everyone (and reduces the decision making stress for Andy).

Tim and Tim have already made a great suggestion re a new style Kumbuyah game. And i'm sure we could field quite a few interesting mid-sized games too (Last time we had ancients, napoleonics, shineys and a few others).

Not suggesting this forever - but it may be a palette cleanser before we do another masseeev game.

I'll play anything but just thought this would get the conversation started.

Yes, good idea to at least open the conversation early on.

I'll play most stuff too, but thoughts at this stage are:

I'd be up for some 17th century, even if it's just one of a number of things played over the weekend.
I think Rampant-sized forces are a good way to go when it's not necessarily one of people's existing collections, so Pikeman's Lament would still be the right call for this. The games can be relatively quick too, giving time for a mini-campaign over 2 days.

Similarly/alternatively, how about a bit of Fantasy? We could bolt some more exotic stuff onto existing Medieval or Ancients.

Also, presumably Simon will have his 18th century 'Space Hulk' game ready, which will be great.

Sounds good! I'd like to try a couple of games so a Sat/Sun split would be good. The Nam game won't be huge so would suit a day.
