What software do you use to create the maps please?

Iain
Cheers matey. I just use MS Powerpoint. The drawing tools are very simple to use and the way you can group objects, 'layer' objects and align them using grids and guides is really useful. It's also ready-to-go on my computer, so I don't have to bother with a specialist graphics package.

Once you've drawn a map on Powerpoint, highlight everything, right-click and 'save as picture' to reproduce it as a graphics file for using on the blog or forums.
That's great, ta.

Not only do I have Powerpoint, but I also have a wife who knows how to use it.

I did some half reasonable maps on MS Paint, but it's a long way from ideal. I'll have a bit of a practice with PP.

Much obliged.

Iain
No worries. A good dip is to use the 'snap to grid' function to draw your map-grids and learn how to use the 'group', 'ungroup', 'send to back' & 'bring to front' functions, as I use those A LOT when drawing maps. Once you've done one map you'll then have a library of symbols etc ready to use for the next one.

If you have a look on here, you'll find a whole load of Powerpoint graphical orbats, with military symbols ready to steal: http://www.fireandfury.com/extra/orders ... ttle.shtml

Thanks again, Mark. That's very helpful.

I've used the grouping stuff in MS Publisher, so I am at least part way down the line - I'm thinking that the function is probably much the same.....although, this is MS, so who knows.
