This history was found in the dusty cellars of the Royal Tiberian library, penned by an author called Jean Luc Pickard.
A little known history of the mid 18th century which was suppressed by the British crown.

Louisbourg 1747.

Louisbourg June 1747 the Jacobites were defeated in Scotland in 1745 at the battle of Culloden, Bonny Prince Charlie went to the Americas with French gold and French troops raising a new Jacobite army. Planning to raise rebellion across the Americas, Louisbourg is central to the plan as the French fleet can offload more Scottish / French, Spanish troops and much needed weapons and supplies for the Prince.
However the British got wind of the plan, attacked and captured Louisbourg in May 1747, the Scottish / French have been laying siege to Louisbourg forts and town for several weeks. Several breaches have been made in the walls and the Scottish / French army is assaulting the breaches as the sun rises.

Peter took charge of the Scottish / French attackers, while Marcus and Dave took on the British defenders.

Forces involved.
French 13, battalions, 2 militia + 10 batteries

British 8 battalions, 2 militia, and 10 batteries.

We used "Paul Robinsons" fast play rules from Kenilworth last year with a few adaptions by me, they played
very well. By using cards for certain events it added more challenges and surprises to the game.

The French have stormed 2 breaches and mounted the wall, the British surrender.

Generals Marcus and Dave hand over their swords to Peter in a most gentlemanly manner

Excellent stuff Willz!
Liked the Irish and Swiss facing the glacis and La Reine in the breech.

Cheers chaps for your support, managed to play 3 games over two days each game was played to a conclusion in under three hours. That was the time scale I wanted for this game, just a few minor tweaks for the next outing.

A rather splendid set-up.
All the good wargames make you wish you were there with a command. I so wish.
