I have no hope of ever understanding what they're 'talking' about on the Wordpress forums (I say 'talking'; more like communicating via hieroglyphs), so I'll wait for the update...

Another response from Wordpress: There will definitely be a fix in the next update (presumably v6.3.1).

Well, my blog just updated to 6.3.1 and it doesn't appear to have fixed it...
