One of many advantages of being a shift-worker is that I can be at home to receive deliveries when she's in work...
You do know she reads this forum don't you...
She also does the internet banking, so it never works...

You could try explaining that it's the tax office.

I'm starting to like Ebay's Make an Offer option. Twice this week I've put offers in for auctions that had been relisted after failing to sell. Saved myself about £12. Today's was for 23 Stargrunt Japanese mercenaries.

I knocked around sixty quid off the asking price for what turned out to be a bigger bunch than expected of the Warplan 5/5 Campaign System (from late 70s/early 80s). I already had one rule book and a couple of sets of maps; this lot had more sets of maps, another vintage Warplan rulebook this time on colour coded paper, and huge amounts of the original counters for map movement and all the specialist pads that went with it.

Unplayable of course because it is far too detailed and complicated, but I’ve been looking out for Warplan stuff for years and I wouldn’t expect to find another similar collection anywhere else. Seller wasn’t a gamer and obviously had had no other interest. I thought I had still paid over the odds until it arrived and there was about three times as much than I had realised. Satisfied the completist in me.

I have one of the maps somewhere in the warehouse, I didn't realise that there were rules and counters.

I'm sure we used that system at SEEMS back in the 70s or 80s. Rather clever if I remember correctly.

I have something I think of as rule blindness - I just can’t pick them up simply by reading. I passed my first copy of the rule book to someone for an opinion a while ago, his view was that they were just too detailed

I was always the receiver of that in my group for rpgs and wargames. Would be interested to see it.
