Flick the switch? I think you're overestimating the level of technology present in RMD's signal box. And the amount of delay that constitutes "late".

Right. I think I've updated the totals but it's hard to know for sure as not easy to spot the points claims in amongst the pages of unrelated posts...

Yeah, the place went electric in 1988 - this system replaced 7 other signal boxes and all the levers and semaphore signals went to a preserved railway. I did train on traditional signalling though and once had to climb up the signals to refill the oil-lamps.
