I work in Manchester city center. Yet to see someone on Spice. Fat orange lasses with swollen lips in clothes three sizes too small? Yes, they’re everywhere, but not Spice addicts.
That's because they all walk into the canals. Or get pushed.
I know when to go out
I know when to stay in
Get things done

If people were coming to Manchester, I would recommend far more places outside of city centre than in the city centre. We have some beautiful countryside

As for Manchester, some parts are best avoided but you soon get a feel for that.
Yeah, the bullet holes and knife wounds are a big clue.
Shootings all seem to be in Liverpool for the past year or two. And we certainly have less knife crime than Liverpool, and definitely less than London. Again, this needs to be taken in context. The UK has 700 odd murders a year. Back home it tops 20,000

Don't stay in Manchester YMCA
I stayed there on a rugby trip in about 1977
My room was small, so small that I could lie on the bed because this just about fitted inside the room. However if I tried to lie sideways with with my head one one sidewall I couldn't lie flat without bending my knees to fit my feet against the other sidewall and I'm about 5 foot and fart
That was a long time ago though

I can spare the armouries in leeds, as long as you spare the lowry, the imperial war and the Halle in Manchester.

It’ll just be like any other Uk city. I never felt in any sense of danger at any point and I was living next to Piccadilly station for 18 months.

I feel completely safe walking the streets (not working the streets!) or driving with my car window open. But then again I worked in Joburg city centre which is only slightly less of a gun town than Lagos
