6mm printed aircraft

The surface is somewhat bobbly but that was expected. I'll have to see how well that can be smoothed over.
So are they good enough to be recognised? To paraphrase that old aussie pervert, Can you tell what they are?
Finally got around to painting up this pair of printed 6mm aircraft.

After much thought, here's my views on them,

Pros
  • No mold lines to be filed away.
No gluing parts together. Biplanes are much, much easier.
Light weight, can use smaller magnets.
Cons
  • Prepping them ready for painting is a pain.
    Cost.
The cons outweigh the pros but I will still buy a few to supplement my metal aircraft. They are likely to be either rare aircraft only availble printed or biplanes.

Very close up like that the surface does look a little grainy. But that's many, many times actually size so on the whole I'd say they look blooming marvellous. Nice job.

Given how cheap 6mm planes are, I would only ever consider 3D printed ones when lead ones aren’t commercially available

EB, you're right they are still a little grainy. I'll do better prep next time, honest.

The painted ones look spot on. I'm lucky if I can see a 6mm plane never mind if it's grainy or not...

Sorry Slug, it wasn't meant to be a criticism of your work.

The top one is one of the projected aircraft for the German aircraft carrier (? Fiesler Fi167). The other is the Caproni Ca309 or derivative.

They paint up well.

Approaching from 6 o'clock, I presume?

EB I didn't take it as criticism. You were correct, they aren't as smooth as I'd like. Next time...
