Re: Tight wad

I tend to avoid tourist traps at this time of year for obvious reasons. I don't know. There's a reason something is a "tourist trap". It's worth visiting. Take Green island, only a 2 hour boat trip-service from Cairns. https://www.green-island.com.au/ All the locals call it a T.T. but whe...

I prefer the little merchant vessels.....so cute.

Thank you for your kind comments. But "cute"? I think many adjectives might apply (eg the Australian "rough as guts" etc) but I'm not sure about "cute"

Re: Tight wad

A "vibrant second hand market" here in OZ means Ebay. Enough said? I certainly have a number of "complete" (whatever that means) armies from a variety of periods. Plenty of gaming possibilities. Possibly too many. There are a number of renovation projects needed - everything from...

Rise in the cost of living etc etc. I know. But at the risk of sounding like a penny-pinching, cheese-paring, parsimonious Scrooge, the cost of the hobby is becoming a problem. My ECW & Late Roman armies are mainly Tumbling Dice figures but after 2 price rises & the ruinous cost of postage, ...

Re: Walls

I just think that walls of that size and sturdiness would have been protecting a proper castle establishment rather than a few hairy-roofed bothies. As always, you've given me something to think about. Anyscale offers this: https://anyscalemodels.co.uk/products/scottish-castle I could clear out the...
