Another vote for Lion Rampant, it's affordable and self contained. Saga has a few drawbacks for me, the individual Age Of books aren't cheap, you do feel some pressure to buy the faction specific dice and it is important to understand your opponent's battle board as well as you understand your own. ...

I used to be in charge of maintaining those at Sealand. In the build up to Op Granby we lost one Tornado that was taking photos of their shadow on the desert floor, the tape in the back was playing the theme to Chariots of Fire.

Heaven forbid that the troops should use lots of ammunition, that's why we soldiered on with the Lee Enfield and why the SLR lacked a full auto function. This approach knocks on into having low stock holdings, the Falklands War saw BAOR & RAFG virtually stripped of 9mm ammunition. I always saw ...

In American terms the 50 cal wasn't a scarce resource, nor were M5's. Churned out by the thousand they were pretty much consumable stores. The British High Command have had a long standing habit of regarding everything as a precious asset. Heaven forbid that the troops should use lots of ammunition,...
