I drive past Driffield showground on the way to Ayton every year.

My other wargaming connection is that in Middlesbrough Wargames Club's English Civil War 1981 campaign (run in about 1980) i commanded the Government TA forces out of Driffield. Badly.

I've found you can get away without varnishing on plastic figures as the paint bonds quite strongly to them. I'm not sure i could cope without varnishing metals though

My last post just disappeared. Its quite amazing that this thread has become serious. Has the trauma of the move knocked everyone sensible ?

Daler Rowney soluble matt varnish is the best i've ever used. Better than W&N in my opinion,. Strangely for an acrylic you thin it with white spirit though.
