Every county has odd rules about personal effects. The great thing about being in the mineral industry is that a visit to the right pub can get you the full skinny.

Busier than ever with work these days, so scraping together painting time recently has been a challenge. That said, I was excited to see a large parcel from Poland on my step over the weekend. Having backed Wargamer's earlier Fire and Sword projects, I knew they'd do things right with their foray into 28mm with Anno Domini 1666, kind of a lacepunk Frostgrave set amongst the diplomatic intrigue of Vienna. Three Musketeers type stuff. Really enjoyed prepping these delightful figures, which are for the most part finely detailed multi-part sculpts.

Zagłobą, looking over some hussars in progress. Need to finish few details before I claim any points. Poles. Poles of all scales...let loose the deluge of puns:

Oh that's a lovely piece of painting, on a very nice figure! On a similar note, I have been tempted by the Warbases Three Musketeers figures, but have resisted so far.

Thanks gentlemen, those BM 3Ms are nice. I remember doing a a quick paint job and a dip and giving them to my son way back when... While I'm trying to swear off posse games, as opposed to larger skirmish, I have to say I'm excited to play through AD1666. My Dwarven Forge city tile will be a perfect replacement for the game boards and with the beautiful figures Wargamer produced will make for a really smashing table.

In the meantime, made some progress on my GNW Poles. Another 18x 6mm Hussars (one nearly complete SQN left to finish on this contingent), 2 Swedish guns (crew does some time ago, so no points for them for the purposes of the painting challenge), and a start on the Saxons.

Very good.
