I've got a few vignettes in a couple of them for which Charles kindly sent me copies of the book and like you Donald I thought about getting the rest but I think this is on hold as I currently need all of my vital organs - except maybe my brain which is in near pristine condition, hardly ever having been used

CS Grant makes mention of many friends, opponents, sources etc.
The trouble is I don't know who any of you are (nearly)....you're all just a collection of funny pen names.

I could also add I had the bright idea of selling my "Wargaming in History' volume on Gettysburg. And for a fair bit less than it cost me. I thought I could use the cash to subsidize buying one of the SYW volumes. Not one nibble!
I shall have to give up & take up knitting as a hobby.

When you get out of wargaming, you find out how cheap it really is. Most hobbies make GW seem cheap.

Charles is an all round good egg. We play fairly regularly when he is able to attend the club.

Oops made a mistake, my vignettes are in editions of the the Wargamers' Annual and not the Re-fighting history series
Apologies

Is that the Kirriemuir Club? I went up there once for a SYW weekender that Chatles organised.

Please pass on to Mr Grant that some unknown & utterly insignificant person he is unlikely to ever meet (or want to) believes his books are at the pinnacle of wargame writing greatness.
I'm sure he'll be thrilled.
