...as far as I know we're using 42mm Figures (foot to eye) which equate to the smaller sized Britains which were 43mm (then later 45mm) total height to fit with 'O' gauge.
Spencer Smith sells the STS and Little Britains Ranges in this size and Irregular produce a huge range in Toy soldier style too.

I'll be painting up all the 'shinies' I have but won't buy any more. That gives me a finite end game and will avoid me getting into an arms race for Ayton 2020. Mind you I already have about three times as much as i'll have painted for Fram.

These STS have separate heads and arms and prongs which is a frightful bore.
What’s the eBay way of attaching these? Some sort of soldering?

Some people pin them. I just clean for a good fit and super glue. They'll probably drop off first time I drop any...

I pin most of them. Some with a better fit I just superglue
