The figures are wonderful but I also like the "incidentals"- the pig sty etc.

Looks like the sort of game anyone would love to play.

Not a period I really know much about (other than bones from the battles being transported back to England to be crushed as fertiliser)...but some really nice paintjobs on those Highlanders :)

Same here, Paul. All I know is that Errol Flynn was involved, somehow. But they are lovely figures that Penda's churning out..

I vaguely recall seeing that film as a boy - my recollection is that Flynn led his regiment on a charge against Pathans on the N W Frontier and suddenly found himself assaulting Russian guns in the Crimea. I know the British cavalry could get a tad carried away, but even aged 8 or 9 it sounded a wee bit far-fetched - especially as it must have involved a 180-degree turn.....

Thanks for the positive encouragement folks, it helps keep my focus, especially painting Roosians! If any readers would like to pop over to the blog there is Part 1 of a review of progress on the Crimean War project. Thanks.

It used to be on (what seemed to be) every 2nd Sunday afternoon, when I was a kid, and was a great persuader to go outside and get into trouble- I mean play. All I remember is that the movie starred his moustache and a couple of horses. Some of Penda's figures show more personality than the Really Upimself Taswegian, too.
