Right, that is the ruddy limit.

This sod is coming to bits and going back to bare metal so I can start from scratch.

Eeerm.... how does one go about stripping paint, then?

Buy another one, build it more carefully. Then use lessons learnt to retrofix the current one.

THAT.... is what was uppermost in my mind.
I did think it was a bit lazy, though, and I’d be roundly mocked by leathery LAW grognards with sheds full of homemade paintstripper and wire brushes.

You will likely spend more than £18 of time and effort on it to get 8t clean and apart.

Or just spray it white/black to taste and repaint? Cheaper and easier - a philosophy to live by.

My recipe for green, organic, recyled paint stripper:
Get a stainless steel bucket.
Every week empty your ashtrays, used condoms, dregs of booze and pie leftovers into it.
Wait two years then bottle it.
Hey presto- a lifetime's supply of free paint stripper/glue remover !
