I don't know about you lot, but I always work better toward a clear objective game. I've been trying to build up my SYW 15mm French, Saxon, British, Hanoverian, Hessian and Brunswicker armies, so have been planning a series of games, requiring the painting of more troops. Our Christmas Game this year, is therefore going to be the Battle of Warburg (we had actually planned to do it at a local show, but sickness in the team scuppered that plan). For this game I needed more Hanoverian cavalry, French dragoons, French infantry, French artillery, Hessian and Brunswick artillery, some French elite battalions, the Chasseurs de Fischer, Highlanders, A LOT more British cavalry and the entire Legion Britannique!
Anyway, here's a blog-post on the Hanoverian cavalry: http://www.jemimafawr.co.uk/2023/11/27/ ... n-cavalry/
And another with the Warburg scenario: http://www.jemimafawr.co.uk/2023/12/10/ ... r-tricorn/

So impressive I can almost forgive you having such small units. Almost.....
I'm guessing that Wersabe's brigade is hot stuff.

Yeah, as discussed before, 24-figure battalions are all very well, but that Kolin game from January would have required a 26x12-foot table. So then people use their 24-figure battalions to represent a full regiment... So why not use 12-figure battalions in the first place...?
Yes indeed, Wersabe was initially commissioned into the Von Raddisch Fusiliers.

Nicely done, mate. I agree with EB about the maps, too. Inspired by the "Refighting History" maps?
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?
Re: Some SYW Hanoverian Cavalry and a Warburg 1760 Scenario
Cheers EB! I do them on Powerpoint and since doing the blog, I'm getting VERY quick at sticking them together!

Cheers mate!
Strangely, I have no idea what the 'refighting history' maps are... Is that a blog I haven't discovered?

I forgot to add that the map is based on the Grossergeneralstab map. I've rotated it to 'vertical', as I haven't yet worked out how to make my blog 'widescreen'...

I would have thought you'd have seen these, Mark. Great maps and good ORBAT info included. Pricey, but I indulge.

Thanks RMD. I have Powerpoint on the computer but never use it. I must experiment.
